Lifestyles Going Forward

Lifestyles for the Disabled is glad to announce the successful completion of our three year Capital Campaign.  During this period we as a community completely met our goal of providing the funds to renovate the former St. Sylvester’s Convent.  Now called the Lifestyles Abilities Center, this building provides numerous program areas for our participants, abundant storage space and room for our administrative offices.

It is now time to underscore our plans Going Forward!

Our “YEAR END GIVING” is now completed at Lifestyles for the Disabled.  This will be our only outreach in this current fiscal year.  We will once again begin our Annual Campaigns in February 2023. Of course we will continue to do our fundraising events in 2022 and hopefully at some point in time we will be able to come together as a community in the Lifestyles Educational Center.

After waiting three years Lifestyles for the Disabled signed a lease with OPWDD for existing space and new space on the Willowbrook Campus, as well as community space in the Institute of Basic Research.  On the Willowbrook Campus we were allotted the “Caretakers House” (Bldg 64) which is the building that attaches the two Green Houses along with the adjacent property.  The new spaces allow us a wealth of opportunities but also creates the need for funds to renovate and meet our utilization plans. Moving forward this coming year we will focus our fundraising and grant writing goals to help us with these renovations.

Our fundraising over the past decade made the Lifestyles Educational Center and the Lifestyles Abilities Center viable resources and there is no doubt together we can accomplish our new objective at both Willowbrook and the Institute of Basic Research.  Please consider a Gift to Lifestyles. Every gift is truly appreciated! To make a donation go to the bottom of the page and click on the “DONATE BUTTON”.
